David grew up in the brewing town of Burton on Trent and started playing guitar at fourteen, inspired by a friend's ability to play the intro to Should I Stay or Should I go, but not much else.
He quickly grasped the basic chords and began piecing them together to create his own songs. The next years were spent playing guitar in Rock/Metal bands, performing original material.
After re-locating to Chepstow David started to write and sing his own original acoustic music, incorporating influences from his time playing in rock bands but also composing mellow finger picked ballads.
